What's fascinating about Dodd's reaction to Quell is his need to dominate him and become his "Master" and the scenes in which he attempts to do this are incredibly compelling and disturbing. All of this said, I return to my initial statement. This is a long, slowly paced movie populated by mostly despicable characters doing despicable things.
